Opgelicht in het buitenland

Stel je bent lekker aan het reizen. Lekker in de stad op pad met je reis genoot. Maar dan komt er plotseling iemand je helpen. Denkend uit goed wil volg je de persoon. Maar dan word je gedwongen te betalen. Uit angst voor wat komen gaat tik je toch maar af. Ja opgelicht in het buitenland. Vele van jullie zal het een keer meemaken of hebben het al meegemaakt. Je kan uiteraard weigeren maar de meeste mensen betalen toch maar, bang voor wat er gaat gebeuren als ze het niet doen. Wat nu?

Aller eerst ga je naar het politiebureau bureau en aangifte doen. Vraag meteen wel een bewijs. Mocht er problemen komen dan kan je iedergeval aantonen dat je aangifte heb gedaan. De zaak is niet in een keer opgelost. Het kan zo zijn dat je naar huis gaat maar je je geld nog niet terug hebt. De politie zal uitzoeken wie het heeft gedaan. En als het op een drukke plek is de camera beelden bekijken. Dan word zo'n persoon aangehouden en zal er een boete worden opgelegd. Uiteraard moet die persoon je het verschuldigde bedrag terug betalen. 

Conclusie: als je bent opgelicht ben je eigelijk machteloos. Je moet aangifte doen en daarna kan het nog lang duren voor je wat hoort. Sommige landen is dit geen prioriteit. Laat je ook goed informeren door de plaatselijke politie. Dan weet je wat er te wachten staat. 

Scammed abroad

Imagine you are having a nice trip. Enjoying a nice time in the city with your travel companion. But then suddenly someone comes to help you. Thinking it is good intentions, you follow the person. But then you are forced to pay. Out of fear of what is to come, you just pay. Yes, scammed abroad. Many of you will experience it at some point or have already experienced it. You can of course refuse, but most people just pay anyway, afraid of what will happen if they don't. What now?

First, you go to the police station and file a report. Ask for proof right away. If there are any problems, you can at least prove that you filed a report. The case is not solved in one go. It is possible that you go home but you still don't have your money back. The police will investigate who did it. And if it is in a busy place, they will watch the camera footage. Then such a person will be arrested and a fine will be imposed. Of course, that person must pay you back the amount owe

Conclusion: if you have been scammed, you are actually powerless. You have to report it and then it can take a long time before you hear anything. In some countries this is not a priority. Also make sure you are well informed by the local police. Then you know what to expect
